While the research about the effects of CBD on type 2 diabetes is still ongoing, only a few studies are investigating how CBD oil can be used to treat diabetes. According to the authors, THC improved glucose control in the blood but not CBD.
Most studies of the effects of CBD on type 2 diabetes have been conducted in rats or mice, not humans. This is a downside since the laboratory conditions, differences between humans and animals, and other factors can affect the study results. Just because CBD works for mice and rats does not mean it works in humans, therefore much more research needs to be done with human trials to study the effects of CBD on people with type 2 diabetes.
